Repentance brings Restoration
Updated: Dec 4
LUKE 16:18 Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced from her husband commits adultery.
The word of the Lord is quite clear. Both the divorced person and the person who marries the divorced person commits adultery.
The Bible tells us " Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are adultery, fornication..........those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God." Galatians 5: 19-21
No adulterer would be able to enter the Kingdom of God. We live by what the word of God says and not what our church leaders or Church organization teaches us.
Therefore, all believers who are part of these relationships need to repent and ask God's forgiveness. It is never too late to seek the forgiveness of God when you come to know the truth. God will forgive and restore you. It may be too late to correct the wrong as children may be involved and other circumstances. But God will restore and forgive a genuine heart of repentance. The Bible does not say for you to leave the relationship. What has happened has already happened. Seek forgiveness and move on with God. Acknowledge that what you did was wrong and genuinely repent and seek God's forgiveness. Jesus Christ paid the price for your sins. Do not seek to cover it up or justify the relationship. After seeking and receiving God's restoration, do not allow the devil to bring it up again. Rebuke him and move on in Christ and the marriage unless you are personally guided by the Holy Spirit to terminate it.
Philippians 3:13-14 tells us "Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Romans 5:1 "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
1 John 5: 14-15 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petition that we have asked of Him.
The Goal is to be perfected in Christ. Hebrews 12: 1-2 ........let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
